Gate 103 is a bus gate.

"Touch the bar code to the right when boarding"
↑ This literal translation is SO wrong.
(a) Boarding? I forget about check-in, but we first had to have it scanned at the security check. The machine then printed out a gate notice.
(b) Touch with which finger? Or nose? Both security and the bus gate had bar code scanners that shone down from above, not from below like some supermarkets. Safer on the eyes.

• 翳す(kazasu) = "hold A over B, hold A up to the light, etc."
↑ The Pasmo people started out last year with kazasu, but tacchi seems to have taken over because
(a) The readers don't work worth a darn when the RFID chips are at a distance—especially for the Mobile Suica one built into my cell phone.
(b) "Touch and go" (in the airplane sense) sounds catchier.bar code reader
